There is more vanilla and spice in the añejo over the reposado, with added orange and grapefruit peel, and with an earthy, cedar-plank smoke. The extended maturation in one-pass JD barrels seem to add a fair amount of charcoal bitterness that feels a tad too overwhelming, almost whiskey-fying what is otherwise a very well made tequila.
