Slim Wine Decanter

This hand-blown glass decanter has been cleverly designed so that it can be used in two different positions.  The flat horizontal position allows you to easily fill the decanter with wine,  while its long flat surface provides a large enough surface area for your wine to aerate and bring out the flavour.

The vertical position is used when you are ready to pour or for easy storage which means that you get the benefits of a wine decanter with a small footprint of a wine carafe.

This wine decanter comes with two useful accessories, 250 stainless steel balls which can be used to help clean your decanter, and a cloth that can be used as a resting mat or drying cloth.

Capacity: 900ml – for easy pouring it is recommended that filling up to 750ml (a standard bottle of wine)

About the designer

The slim decanter has been conceived and developed by renowned designer Emanuele Pizzolorusso.  Emanuelle is an Italian designer based in Helsinki whose work has won a number of international awards, including the German Designer Award, Design Plus and the ADI Compasso d’Oro.  His work frequently incorporates unique gestures which deepen the understanding relationship between the product and its user.

“I wanted to create a decanter as slim and elegant as a wine bottle.  To achieve this result I conceived this object with two operating positions: a horizontal position to fill and to aerate the wine and a vertical one to serve it. When horizontal the contact surface between wine and air for oxygenation is maximised.  When turned vertical it then becomes as slim and compact as a bottle”.
